1997

The Oak Tree Inn opens in Balmaha, establishing itself as a high-quality hospitality destination.

2006

Expansion of accommodation options with the conversion of nearby cottages into B&B offerings.

2009

Opening of Balmaha Village Shop, serving both residents and visitors.

2010

Introducing a polytunnel and vegetable garden to supply fresh produce for the restaurant.

2012

The Oak Tree is named Scotland’s Pub of the Year, reinforcing its outstanding service and quality reputation.

2013

Launch of Loch Lomond Ice Cream, homemade on-site in Balmaha served in the restaurant and coffee shops.

2014

Stuart and David Fraser opened the first St Mocha Coffee Shop in Balmaha next to the Oak Tree Inn.

2014

The Oak Tree Inn plays a key role in installing the hugely popular Tom Weir Statue at Balmaha Bay by Loch Lomond.

2015

The Oak Tree hosts the first ‘Balmaha’s Braw Weekend’ drawing over 10,000 attendees for food, music and entertainment.

2016

The Oak Tree features in VisitScotland’s global advertising campaign, showcasing Scottish hospitality worldwide.

2017

Installing a new pontoon at Balmaha enhances access to water-based connections in Loch Lomond.

2017

Launch of Loch Lomond Coffee Co., the National Park’s first artisan coffee roasting facility.

2019

Opening of The Station, a new St Mocha Coffee Shop in Aberfoyle at the Gateway to the Trossachs.

2020

Introduction of the UK’s first drive-thru artisan coffee shop at St Mocha Carbeth, between Glasgow and Loch Lomond.

2021

Sandy Fraser receives a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Scottish Pub & Club Awards for his contributions to hospitality.

2022

We installed a biomass heating system, 300+ solar panels, and a ground source heat pump to power and heat our facilities efficiently, investing in our Net Zero Strategy by 2040.

2024

Establishment of Lomond Kitchen, a central production kitchen supporting the growing business.

2025

Launch of ‘Hunt the Haggis’, an innovative family-themed nature walk experience in Balmaha.

2025

The formation of The Conic Group: The Oak Tree Inn, St Mocha & Loch Lomond Coffee Co.
